Seattle Drum School Georgetown in the Schools
We have a variety of school assemblies and clinics we can offer via the Seattle Drum School Georgetown. Most are developed specifically for your audience, but we also have a couple of packaged programs that are ideal for school music programs. Keep checking back for more opportunities!
History of American Music Assembly
Designed for grade school throughout high school, “The History of American Music “ is sure to excite kids of all ages. Our theme is to present the music of our country though student participation. We show up with a full sound system PA and three musicians: Bob Lovelace (guitar/vocals/leader), Marc Fendel (bass/saxophone), and Eric Eagle (drums). Bob will explain America’s rich music history as the band plays through various musical styles. We start with African drums and rhythm and how African-Americans met the Irish in coal mines and borrowed the Irish folk songs. This evolved into American Blues and Jazz music. Next we will demonstrate Rock music, electronic music and Funk. Finally, we end with Hip-hop. Students participate mostly with the Rock, Funk and Hip-hop part of the assembly. We will have your students and teachers alike, playing percussion instruments singing, rhyming, and dancing. Your students will be talking about our presentation until we come back next time!
Cost: $500 for 45 minutes (or 1 hour if requested)
