Rock Band Classes

Seattle Drum School Rock Band Class is an amazing experience for musicians of any age and skill level (adults too!). It's their chance to unlock their creative potential, acquire rehearsal skills, and learn cooperation and teamwork. The band members will work with a full time coach who will encourage them to build their own sound and even to compose their own songs if they're interested!

The bands will be organized by age, ability and experience. Beginners must be simultaneously enrolled in private lessons. There will be hour long weekly rehearsals (students participate during the entirety of each session) with quarterly concerts at our all-ages venue, The Slab.

The cost for classes is $25/session for SDS students simultaneously enrolled in private lessons and $35/session for students doing just the rehearsals. Tuition is to be paid monthly in advance and is due by the 25th of the preceding month. Students can enroll at any time with tuition prorated through the end of the month.

Music Performance LAB:

• Never played an instrument but want to play music with others?
• Can't read music, but want to have fun jamming on some funky beats?
• Interested in trying out some of the techniques you learned during your private lesson?

If you answered yes to any of these questions then this class is for you! What will we do?

Experience the elements of music in a whole new way! This class is designed for new musicians who have been playing for two years or less. Open to adults or parents with kids. (Age 7 and up.)   Bring your own instrument, or choose from our collection of drums and percussion, keyboards, bass, etc...  We will experience the fundamentals of music including: form, dynamics, call and response, soloing, and much more. Come on...Join us for some fun music making!

Little Kids Music Classes:

Explore the four elements of music: Rhythm, Melody, Harmony, & Fun! Each week we will sing, dance, clap, stomp, count and play instruments.  We utilize play as a learning tool!

Elementary music classes are ongoing.  Drop-ins are welcome at the current rate of $15 per class OR if you pre-register one of two ways, you can get a discounted session at $12.50 per class.  Do this by calling our office anytime BEFORE close on Friday (7:00p) to confirm your attendance and pay by credit card over the phone for the single session. Or prepay a month at a time - Note:  Tuition does not push forward into the next month as that constitutes a drop-in.  

We have two elementary music classes at this time:

Saturdays, 9:30-10:15am: Elementary Drumming.  Ages: 3-5.  This course will be provided for our more focused students, as a way to begin to build a basic foundation in percussion.

Saturdays, 10:30-11:15am: Explore Music.  Ages: 1.5-3.  This course will be geared for our elementary students who are still discovering music on a more general level.  This is intended as a child centered course and will help your children discover the world of music.
